The South Bay ( English for South Bay ) is a bay on the south coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located northwest of False Bay , from which it is separated by the Hurd Peninsula .
The name of the bay has been known to US and British seal hunters since at least 1820 and has been established ever since.
