history

The club was founded in 1926 as the Singer Turn- und Sportverein e. V. founded. In 1926 four idealists had the idea of founding a Singer factory association. At a founding meeting, 30 women and 11 men formed the Singer Turn- und Sportverein Wittenberge e. V. (Singer TuSV). Initially, this consisted only of a male and female gymnastics group. The purpose was to compensate the workforce of the Singer sewing machine plant and to identify with the company.

Foundation of the soccer team

On April 1, 1927, a football department was established in the Singer TSV. The founding fathers are Mr. Benthin and Mr. Genz and the playing attire at the time was green / red and green / white. The first soccer game took place on August 27, 1927. A team from the Altmarkstadt Seehausen was defeated 7-0. The club then took part in the game operations in the Gau Altmark as a member of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV) . For the 1928/29 season, Singer Wittenberge was placed in the second class of the Altmark Gau.

On May 12, 1929, the new approximately 60,000 m² sports field in Singer Park was inaugurated with an extensive sports program.

Point game operation

After a few years, the footballers from Wittenberge had some successes on a regional level and they became the most successful representatives of Wittenberg sports, perhaps alongside the handball players.
