Mingyinyo (* 1459 ; † November 24, 1530 ) was a Burmese ruler and is considered the founder of the Taungu dynasty , which ruled large parts of what is now Myanmar between 1510 and 1752 .

At the end of the Ava dynasty , after the city was conquered by the Shan in 1527 , many Burmese migrated south to Taungu (Toungoo, Toungupp), which later became a new center of Burmese rule. Mingyinyo began to unite the Burmese, but it was only his son Tabinshweti (1530–1550) who ensured the unification of Burma.
