Mingyue (Pengxi)

Mingyue ( 明月 镇 , Míngyuè Zhèn ) is a large municipality in the southwest of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of Pengxi County , which in turn is subordinate to the prefecture -level city of Suining in Sichuan Province . The large community has an area of ​​56.3 square kilometers, 25,600 inhabitants (2017) and is located in the north of the district, about 13 km west of the center of Pengxi.

The core settlement extends to 62 hectares, an expansion to 167 hectares is being planned; In 2017, 3,100 people lived in the core settlement.

The agricultural area is 20 square kilometers. With two harvests in 2016, a yield of 11,000 tons of grain was achieved, in the same year there were 300 cattle and 15,000 chickens in the larger municipality; Fish farming was carried out on an area of ​​13 hectares. There are development programs for the establishment of 40 hectares of walnut and orange plantations each and for the breeding of 15,000 ducks.

The Gaodongni Temple (高 洞 尼 众 禅院, Gāo dòng ní zhòng chányuàn) from the Tang Dynasty is located in the large community . The facility has a worship hall, training rooms, a bell tower and a drum tower and extends over 20,000 square meters.
