Carl-Christian Schmidt (born July 26, 1943 in Schwerin , Mecklenburg ) is a German Protestant theologian.

Life

Schmidt attended the 1st Advanced High School (EOS) "Ernst Thälmann" (C-branch, Latin-Greek) in Rostock . After graduating from high school in 1963, he studied Protestant theology at the University of Rostock until 1969 . After the ordination he was pastor at the village church Kirch Grubenhagen from 1970 to 1975 . From 1976 he was pastor and provost at Doberaner Münster for 16 years . 1992–1999 he was state superintendent in Wismar. In 1999 he took up the orphaned pastor's position in the parish church of St. Marien (Plau am See) . His wife Angret b. Belbe, also a pastor, founded the hospital pastoral care at the new Plau hospital . At his own request, Pastor Schmidt was retired on August 1, 2006. The daughter and son-in-law are pastors in Rendsburg.

Schmidt has dealt with the history of the Cistercians and the Doberan Minster for decades and belongs to the convent of the monastery church.
