Minhas or Minhas-Dogra (Punjabi: मिन्हास (Devanagari), ਮਿਨਹਾਸ (Gurmukhi), مِنہاس (Urdu)) is a Suryavanshi Rajput clan from the Punjab region and Kashmir in India . It is an offshoot of the Jamwal-Dogra Rajputs, founders of the city and state of Jammu, and its rulers from ancient times to 1948 CE. They are unsurpassed in antiquity, which is generally considered a measure of royalty. Majority of the community of noble families belong to the religions Sikhism. In the region you can still find many with the surname Minhas who are descendants of the noble family. Later the name Singh was added to the Sikhs , which was introduced by Guru Gobind Singh for Sikhs. Meanwhile the inhabitants also belong to the religions Hinduism or Islam Ahmadiyya . Guru Nanak Dev first made the greatest influence with his religion Sikhism and later Mirza Ghulam Ahmad convinced many from the Punjab region (India) to Islam in the 19th century .

The Sikh, Hindu name Minhas is possibly a modified form of Minhaj, which comes from Arabic and means "method" or "way". There are also various works such as that of Minhaj al Siraj. "Minhaj al-Siraj" was the author of a well-known 13th century story of India.
