Miniversum was a children's magazine that taught the young generation everything about animals. The show was one of the longest running formats of the ORF children's program Okidoki (formerly Confetti TiVi ). Most of the episodes have been divided into these categories:

  • The profile in which everything was reported about a specific animal.
  • The snapshot showing the latest news about animals from all over the world.
  • The young animal of the week , a baby animal that was just born in a zoo somewhere in the world was always shown here.

The program was moderated by Christina Karnicnik . The age recommendation of the ORF was from six years.

In the last few seasons, the categories were partially dissolved in favor of a main contribution, such as: B. in the four-part episodes On the Blue Danube with additional background information. For such multi-part thematic sequences, the material from the archive of the Universum episodes has been rearranged for the age group and prepared in a child-friendly manner together with background information.

The majority of the series dealt with life in the Austrian natural areas.

Great animals, with tomcat Kurt (since 2015)

The program Miniversum is currently no longer in the ORF children's program, but a new program called Tolle Tiere was created in 2015 with the new "okidoki" mascot Kater Kurt .
