Minoru Honda

Minoru Honda ( Japanese 本田 実 , Honda Minoru ; born February 26, 1913 , † August 26, 1990 ) was a Japanese amateur astronomer .

Minoru Honda discovered a total of twelve comets between 1940 and 1968, including the periodic 45P / Honda-Mrkos-Pajdušáková . He also discovered 12 Nova, including the very bright Nova V1500 Cygni on August 29, 1975 .

The asteroid (3904) Honda was named after him. The asteroid (8485) Satoru was named after his wife and the asteroid (11442) Seijin-Sanso after his observatory.
