Mir-Ali mausoleum

The Mir Ali mausoleum in the Azerbaijani town of Aşağı Avşar in the Ağcabədi district is a mausoleum from the 13th century . The original name is not secured, the current name is a colloquial name. The mausoleum is on the road from Bərdə to Beyləqan .

Building

The cylindrical tower mausoleum stands on a stepped foundation, under the building there is a burial chamber carved into the rock. The tower is closed by a tent roof and houses the prayer room. The mausoleum is clad with regular, precisely worked stone slabs, the narrow gate is decorated with garlands. The memorial hall is asymmetrical and has a mihrab . The cross-shaped burial chamber can be reached from the ground floor and is covered with a barrel vault.

There are no written sources for the construction time, but research suggests that it was built at the beginning of the 13th century. The construction was later often imitated.
