Mircea George Florian

Mircea George Florian (born April 1, 1888 in Bucharest ; † October 31, 1960 ) was a Romanian philosopher with a rationalistic and realistic orientation. a. worked on Henri Bergson .

Life

Mircea's father was the civil servant George Florian, his mother Barbara b. Ionescu. In 1911 he graduated from the Faculty of Human Sciences and Philosophy in Bucharest. Here he heard u. a. Lectures with Petre Paul Negulescu and Titu Maiorescu , who strongly influenced him. In 1914 he received his doctorate on Bergson in Greifswald. From 1916 to 1948 he taught in Bucharest.

Mircea Florian worked on various topics in the history of philosophy, epistemology, philosophy of religion and logic. His translation and introduction to the Aristotelian Organon are well known .
