Misak Terzibasiyan (* 1964 in Helsinki ) is a Dutch architect.

biography

Terzibasiyan's mother, Vappu Viuha, was of Finnish descent. His father, the textile designer Edward Terzibasiyan, had Armenian roots. Misak Terzibasiyan studied at the Technical University of Eindhoven from 1985 to 1991 and graduated in architecture, urban design and processing technology. From 1991 to 1994 he worked as an architect in Cologne . From 1994 to 2003 he worked as an architect in various offices in the Netherlands. In 2003 Terzibasiyan founded his own architectural office in Eindhoven : UArchitects. He is a member of the design advisory boards of various Dutch municipalities and is a regular contributor to de Architect's website.

Awards and nominations

Terzibasiyan has received various national and international prizes and nominations since 2003, including the first prize for the “Breite Schule” (Brede school) in Bocholt , the Edu Build Award 2011, the German Design Award 2014 for Split-View, the Dirk Roosenberg Prijs 2015 2015 for 't Hofke, the Victor de Stuersprijs in 2017 for the primary school IKC de Geluksvogel, the American Architecture Prize 2016 in the category "Education", the Modern Collective Living Challenge and the BB Green Award 2017 in China as well as the second place the World Architecture & Design Awards 2019 for IKC de Geluksvogel.
