Miskan ( Arabic مسكان, DMG Miskān ) is a small, uninhabited island in the Persian Gulf off Kuwait . It is located south of the island of Bubiyan .

Miskan is about 1.2 kilometers long and 800 meters wide. The distance between it and the neighboring island of Failaka to the south is about 3.2 kilometers. The distance between Miskan and the nearest part of mainland Kuwait is about 15 miles. There are no vital activities on the island other than a lighthouse ( Jazirat Maskan Lighthouse ) to guide ships in the Persian Gulf at night. This island is important because it is one link in a chain of islands along the Kuwaiti coast from north to south that provide Kuwait with a line of defense.
