The Misnomer Point (English for misnomer tip is) a headland on the west coast of Robert Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located immediately north of Carlota Cove .
It was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1971. For several years the headland was mistakenly named Cornwall Point , a modification of the name of the nearby island of Cornwall Island .
