Mitamura Takeo

Mitamura Takeo ( Japanese 三 田村 武夫 ; born June 11, 1899 in Ōno , Ibi district , Gifu prefecture ; † November 24, 1964 ) was a Japanese politician and leading member of the Pan-Asian party Tōhōkai founded by Nakano Seigō .

career

From June 1928 to January 1932 Mitamura Takeo was an employee in the Department of Guard and Preservation of the Ministry of the Interior, from October 1932 to June 1935 in the administration of the Ministry of Colonial Affairs. In February 1936 Mitamura Takeo ran unsuccessfully in the Shūgiin election. In April 1937 he succeeded in moving into the Shūgiin as a member of the Tōhōkai . Mitamura is one of only four members of the Tōhōkai who did not break away from their party after the failure of the attempted union with the left Shakai Taishūtō in 1939.

In April 1942, Mitamura Takeo was re-elected from the second constituency of Ibi-gun. He was captured by police on September 6, 1943, a month and a half before Nakano's arrest. Mitamura Takeo ran unsuccessfully in the Shūgiin elections in 1952 (as a non-party), 1953 and 1960 (as a member of the Liberal Democratic Party ), but in 1955 (as a member of the Democratic Party of Japan ), 1958 and 1963 (as a member of the Liberal Democratic Party) he succeeded Entry into the Shūgiin. 1957 Mitamura Takeo was chairman of the legal committee of the Shūgiin.

Mitamura Takeo wrote numerous books, including memoirs about his trusted party comrade: Nakano Seigō wa naze jijinshita-ka? ( 中 野 正 剛 は 何故 自 刃 し た か! ; "Why did Nakano Seigō choose to commit suicide by the sword?", 1950) and Keikoku-no Kiroku: Nakano Seigō Jijin Nijū Shūnen-ni atatte ( 警告 の 記録: 中 野 正 剛 自 刃 20 剛 自 刃当 っ て ; "Archive of Warning: On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the suicide of Nakano Seigō", 1963).
