Climate friendliness
The vehicle fleet has been converted to the more climate-friendly natural gas technology for many years. All 54 buses have been running on biogas since March 2019.
In August 2016, the existing bus fleet was examined in real operation on two lines with the help of Ralph Pütz from the University of Landshut . It turned out that an articulated natural gas bus emits 33 percent less nitrogen oxide and 82 percent less nitrogen dioxide compared to an articulated diesel bus on the lines of Mitbus GmbH. In addition, the assumption was confirmed that further pollutant savings result from the use of biomethane. Since 2017, the natural gas buses have been fueled exclusively with biomethane.
