Mitsos Stavrakakis

Mitsos Stavrakakis ( Greek Μήτσος Σταυρακάκης , * 1947 in Armanogia ) is a Greek poet and composer.

Stavrakakis was imprisoned for two years during the Greek military dictatorship and later active in local politics as a councilor for the then Nikos Kazantzakis community and the rural trade union movement. He published two volumes of poetry ( Ήλιε μου κοσμογυρευτή , 1984 and Στη δίνη των ανέμων , 1999). His poems were composed and interpreted by well-known musicians, and he composed his own texts for more than 20 albums. The double CD Echo der Zeit ( Ηχώ του χρόνου ) was created in collaboration with Ross Daly .
