Miyuu Kihara

Miyuu Kihara ( Japanese 木 原 美 悠 Kihara Miyū ; born August 3, 2004 in Akashi , Hyōgo Prefecture ) is a Japanese table tennis player . She is considered one of the most promising young talents in her country, as she qualified for the World Tour Grand Finals at the age of 14 and won the title in the women's doubles.

She is currently one of the top 100 table tennis players in the world in the ITTF world rankings . She is right-handed and uses the European shakehand style as a handle . The Japanese plays at the Japanese club Kinoshita Abyell Kanagawa .

Career

The Japanese made her first international appearances in 2016 when she took part in the World Cadet Challenge. She also won silver in the women's singles at the Hong Kong Junior & Cadet Open .

She had other appearances on the World Tour in 2017, including at the Japan, Croatia and China Open. At the youth world championship she was able to win silver with the team, she was defeated in her singles Wang Manyu .

2019 was by far her most successful year: She qualified for the World Tour Grand Finals and won the doubles competition there together with Miyu Nagasaki . She also won two titles at the Croatia Open, when she was just 14 years and 278 days old, making her the youngest World Tour winner since 1996.
