The Mizoram Premier League (also Mahindra Two Wheelers Mizoram Premier League ) is the highest class league in the Indian state of Mizoram , nationally this league is the third highest in Indian football . The league is run by the Mizoram Football Association.

In the 2012 season the league had eight clubs. The four clubs that automatically qualified for the Mizoram Premier League were Dinthar FC, FC Kulikawn, Mizoram FC and Luangmual FC . The remaining four teams were determined in a playoff system. At the end of a season, the master receives 500,000 rupees , which is the equivalent of around 6,400 euros.

The main venues are in the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium Mualpui and in Lammual.

In June 2012, it was announced that the Mizoram Football Association had signed a five-year deal with ZONET Cable TV. The contract was signed by league president Lal Thanzara and is the most lucrative sports contract in northeast India.

Others

The relatively new and unknown league became known through the death of a player. Midfielder Peter Biaksangzuala died in the game between the Bethlehem Vengthlang FC and Chanmari West FC team celebrating his goal. When trying to imitate Miroslav Klose's somersault , he fell unhappily on the back of his head and died in hospital.
