Mkmf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

mkmf (English make makefile ) is a computer program for creating makefiles . The basis of the generated Makefile is either a special template or an existing Makefile. The most important function is entering the file names of sources and objects from the working directory and determining the header files inserted in these files .

mkmf was developed at the University of California, Berkeley .

In Ruby , mkmf is used by default when creating expansion modules (e.g. in the Debian distribution, mkmf is included in the ruby1.8-dev package).

With Lattice C the corresponding program is called mkmk .
