Mohamajahr ( Persian محمدشهر) Is a town in County Karaj in the province of Alborz in Iran . In 2016 the city had about 119,000 inhabitants.
geography
The city is located in the southwestern part of Alborz, south of the Elburs Mountains , near Karaj , the provincial capital.
history
Mohamajahr is a very new city. In this place there were once several villages with large agricultural plots that united and formed a city. The industrial development of Karajah helped the urbanization of Mohamajahr. The municipality was founded in 1996. Due to rapid urbanization, the infrastructure is largely lacking.
