Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus , also abbreviated to MC2 , is a first-person shooter developed by Gameloft , which was released on October 4, 2010 for iOS , Android and webOS . The game is the 2nd part in the Modern Combat franchise and is therefore the direct successor to Modern Combat: Sandstorm.

After Abu-Baha was killed in Modern Combat: Sandstorm, the task now is to kill the successors of Abu-Baha's group. The game is divided into three acts and a prologue. In the prologue, one of the protagonists, Pvt. Newman from the Mustang unit, after the failure of Operation Troika, interrogated Pablo (a successor to Abu-Baha) and his interpreter in the jungle. After waking up again, Pvt. Downs is found and the prison escape begins. At the end of the prologue, the question remains whether you will die from a fragmentation grenade. In the first mission of the first act, the player plays the protagonist of the previous part, Lt. 'Chief' Warren to interrogate a successor to Abu-Baha. In the first mission, the real protagonist of the game appears, Sgt. Anderson, who can still be seen in the third and fourth part. His task is divided into 2 missions. In the first, he has to protect a convoy over roofs in which the candidate for the presidency in the Middle East, Azimi, is to be brought to the American embassy. The 2nd mission takes place on the car with a machine gun. However, the embassy is stormed and in the 4th mission you have to protect Azimi, who turns out to be a traitor and is killed. Act 2 is the flashback showing the failure of the Mustang unit and its kidnapping. The Mustang unit interrogates a partner of Abu-Baha to get to his boss. Popovich will be caught in the next missions, but Pvt. Newman and Pvt. Deceived down and kidnapped. In the third act you can see that Downs and Newman are still alive and share Pablo's point of view with the Razor unit. In the last 2 missions Pablo is chased from his villa into the slums and is killed by a fragmentation grenade in the final fight by Anderson.

Multiplayer

On-line

In this mode it is possible to compete against players all over the world. To be able to play "online", you need an account with Gameloft-Live.

Local (WiFi)

In this mode it is possible to play against players who are logged into the local WiFi. The data is saved on the device, that is, if you delete Modern Combat 2, all data is also deleted (rank, kill spell, etc.).

Local (bluetooth)

In this mode you can compete against players who are “close by” (approx. 15-20 meters, after which the connection is too bad). The connection is often better here than in the local mode (WiFi). The data is saved on the device, that is, if you delete Modern Combat 2, all data is also deleted (rank, kill spell, etc.). Modern Combat 2 is so far the only game in the Modern Combat series with a Bluetooth multiplayer mode. However, this function is only available on iOS.
