Fashion tailor
Dressmaker is a tailoring profession that deals with the planning and manufacture of clothing items.
Overview of tasks and activities
In the sample studio, fashion tailors create models for clothing or other textile goods , primarily for collection and series production. In production, among other things, they plan production processes and processes according to economic and technical aspects, calculate the respective costs, order materials and put together the materials for the sewing company. They instruct fashion sewers in their respective tasks, set up the necessary machines, which they also maintain, monitor the production process and check the finished products. They also take on demanding sewing work or cutting fabrics themselves.
Training
Fashion tailor is a recognized, three-year training occupation according to the Vocational Training Act (BBiG). He is assigned to the professional field of textile technology and clothing. The mono profession is trained in companies in the clothing and textile industry without specializing according to subject or focus. School-based training is also possible.
The training can take place in two stages: After completing the 1st stage (2 years) of fashion sewing , the professional qualification of fashion tailor is acquired in the 2nd stage (1 year).
