Modou Jagne (born February 14, 1983 in Banjul ) is a Gambian football player .

Career

He has a contract until June 2009. Jagne played in his youth with the Gambian first division club Hawks Banjul .

In January 2006 he moved to SCR Altach in the Austrian Bundesliga .

On January 11, 2007 it was announced that Jagne had passed a positive doping test during training . Jagne admitted using cannabis and was suspended from the club. The proceedings against Jagne were discontinued because Senate 1 of the Bundesliga came to the conclusion that a performance-enhancing effect could not be proven and that FIFA only makes a mandatory ban in the event of a competition inspection. Jagne benefited from the delayed implementation of the anti-doping law, which was only implemented by the ÖFB on January 1, 2007. The club then decided to lift the suspension again.

In March 2008, as part of a routine examination, he was diagnosed with heart disease, although for a long time it was unclear what exactly it was. In the course of this illness he was threatened with a longer break, and an early retirement was not ruled out. During the 2008/09 season, however, Jagne made his comeback.

In January 2009 he moved to SK Austria Kärnten within the highest Austrian league . In January 2010 Austria Kärnten announced the amicable termination of the contract, since then Jagne has been without a club.

Modou Jagne completed four games for the Gambian national soccer team .
