Modular software synthesizer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Modular software synthesizer is the name for a modular synthesizer that is emulated as software on a computer. The connection between the individual modules is made with the mouse on the screen and visualized with virtual cables. The main advantage over the classic hardware models is that you can save any number of cabling variants and call them up again at any time. Examples of modular software synthesizers are the Nord Modular from the Swedish instrument maker Clavia , Native Instruments' Reaktor , the software implementation of the Moog Modular , the VST plug-in Kamioooka and Sonigen.
