Modulation (linguistics)
Modulation in general linguistics means " shaping speech", such as B .:
- Loud - soft speaking ( volume )
- Fast - slow speaking ( speaking rhythm )
- raise - lower the voice ( pitch )
Modulation also means "semantic paraphrasing" (= rewriting), e.g. For example: "He's barking up the wrong tree" is translated to "He's on the wrong track". In order to get the sense, for example, a proverb in one language has to be replaced by a proverb in another language.
