Mowgli (singer)

Mogli (* 1994 as Selima Taibi in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German singer and songwriter .

She became known, among other things, through the film Expedition Happiness , which was made while traveling through North America in an old US school bus that was converted by hand . The film is accompanied by their songs.

Musical career

At the age of eleven, Selima Taibi sang in the children's choir of the Frankfurt Opera .

In 2012 she was a candidate (back then as Selima Taibi) in the second season of The Voice of Germany ( ProSieben ), but could not convince the jury at the time. Three years later she recorded her debut album under the stage name Mogli, which won the VUT Indie Award for best newcomer. She had financed the album through crowdfunding .

Two years later she traveled through America with her boyfriend at the time in a converted school bus. The film Expedition Happiness tells of their journey . The soundtrack of this film was released on their second album Wanderer .
