Mogollon is a ghost town in the Mogollon Mountains in New Mexico in the US.

location

The place is on Road 159 (Bursum Road). It is about 30 km to the west to the state border with Arizona . To the north to Springerville in Arizona and to Silver City in the south it is approximately 50 miles each.

history

Mogollon emerged as a mining town at the end of the 19th century . With the closure of the last mine in 1952, the city became orphaned. In 1973 it served as the backdrop for the Spaghetti Western My name is Nobody . The former town is listed as a Mogollon Historic District on the national register of historic places .
