Mohamed Abu Zeid Hamdy

Muhammad Hamdi Abu Zaid (* 1918 ) was an Egyptian diplomat .

Life

Muhammad Hamdi Abu Zaid was married with a daughter and a son. He studied at the Egyptian Air Force Academy and practiced the profession of pilot from 1949 to 1960. As early as 1951 he was a participant in a navigation course of the Royal Air Force in Hamble-le-Rice and in 1952 was appointed a member of the first Revolutionary Council. He was released from the armed forces of Egypt in 1960 with the rank of group captain .

He then headed the Asia department in Gamal Abdel Nasser's office until 1962 and was appointed ambassador to Mexico City in 1968 . From 1973 to 1974 he headed the European department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then worked as ambassador to Damascus . In 1975/1976 he was a member of the government of Mamduh Muhammad Salim as Minister of Civil Aviation. Finally was accredited from April 1976 as ambassador in Moscow .
