Mohamed Noor

Mohamed AF Noor (born before 1992) is an American evolutionary biologist and geneticist.

Noor graduated from the College of Wiliam and Mary with a bachelor's degree in 1992 and received his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1996 . He was a post-graduate student at Cornell University . He is a professor at Duke University .

He investigates speciation on the genetic level using the Drosophila model , for example through genetic recombination .

In 2008 he received the Darwin Wallace Medal . He was the editor of Evolution magazine . Noor was president of the American Genetic Association and the Society for the Study of Evolution.

He also developed genetic school experiments.
