Mohamed Taabouni (born March 29, 2002 in Haarlem ) is a Dutch football player who also has Moroccan citizenship. He has played for AZ Alkmaar since his youth and is a young Dutch national player.

Career

Mohamed Taabouni began playing football at Olympia Haarlem and later moved to the AZ Alkmaar junior academy . On November 17, 2018, at the age of 16, he played for the first time in the Dutch second division, when he played through in the reserve team at PSV Eindhoven's second division . Taabouni scored his first goal in the second highest division of the Netherlands in the 3-1 away win against the second team of FC Utrecht on January 13, 2019, when he scored the goal to equalize 1-1. In the 2018/19 season Taabouni played for the second team in the second division in ten games, in the current season (as of February 9, 2020) he is also used regularly, usually in offensive positions.

National team

Mohamed Taabouni made three appearances for the Dutch U15 national team, nine games for the Dutch U16 (two goals) and 24 games for the Dutch U17 national team (eight goals). At the 2019 European Championships in Ireland , Taabouni played six games and became European champions with his team. At the following World Cup in Brazil , he also came to six games and was fourth with his team. He currently plays for the U18 national team.
