Mohammed al-Awwad
Mohammed Abdul-Hamid al-Awwad ( Arabic محمد عبد الحميد العواد, DMG ? ; † January 16, 2012 in Ghouta , Damascus ) was a Syrian brigadier general who was killed in the course of the civil war in Syria .
life and death
Mohammed Abdul-Hamid al-Awwad, who comes from the Rif Dimaschq governorate , held the rank of brigadier general at the time of his death. On the morning of January 16, 2012, Mohammed al-Awwad was on his way to his unit in the east of the Ghouta region with a driver when he was shot at his car by attackers in the region around the capital Damascus and killed by gunshots in the head . His driver was also injured in the attack by four attackers.
