The Mohr von Wien or actually "Othellerl, the Mohr von Wien or Die Heilte Jeaersucht" is a play by Karl Meisl from the year 1806. The play is a farce in 3 lifts and typical for a pawlatschen stage . The play is a travesty of William Shakespeare's Othello . Meisl used such a literary form to conduct social and political criticism, which was very difficult during the Biedermeier and censorship times, as punishment threatened.
