Momar Njie (born August 26, 1975 ) is a Gambian football player . Like his brother Abdou-Rahman Njie , the defender played in the Gambian national team.

Career

Njie first appeared in high-class amateur football in 1998 in the second team of Tennis Borussia Berlin , with whom he was promoted to the Regionalliga Nordost in 1999 . In the 2000/01 season he also came to seven appearances in the first team of TeBe Berlin, which could not hold up after relegation to the second division in the Regionalliga Nord and was relegated to bottom of the table in the league.

Njie then left the club and moved to Austria, where he first played one season at Kremser SC before playing the following season at SV Horn . In 2003 he returned to Germany and played with his brother at the Hessian league club Borussia Fulda . In 2004 he moved back to Berlin and joined SV Yeşilyurt Berlin , but left the club again after half a year to play with his brother at Tasmania Gropiusstadt . At the end of the season, both switched to the Reinickendorfer Füchsen , where Momar Njie only stayed for half a year. In early 2006, he joined the upper division BFC Preussen , for whom he came to a total of 65 league appearances in two and a half seasons.

Since 2003, Njie has played at least four international matches for Gambia .

Individual evidence

  1. ↑ In addition to those born in Gambia, the Gambian citizenship is also granted to the children and grandchildren of a person who has the Gambian citizenship. Njie could be the son of a Gambian emigrant and does not have to be born in Gambia.
