The Monasticon Belge is a monumental prosopographical work in 23 volumes on the history of all Belgian monasteries and their superiors before 1789.

The Benedictine Ursmer Berlière (1861–1932) from Maredsous Abbey , who was based on the Gallia Christiana , began publishing in deliveries at the end of the 19th century. During his lifetime (in French) he completed two volumes with a total of 811 pages. The work, which is divided into provinces and orders, was continued with the participation of numerous scholars and completed in 1993. It is sold today by Brepols, Turnhout.
