The expression money shot (from English shot for setting or recording ) denotes an expensive and / or particularly spectacular, commercially successful recording in film and television productions as well as in photojournalism. Spectacular amateur recordings published in the media, for example of natural disasters, are also given this name.

In talk shows , moments of particularly emotional reactions from guests, such as breaking into tears, are referred to as money shots . In the porn industry, money shot is used synonymously for cumshot .
