Monika Finsterbusch

Monika Finsterbusch (born November 7, 1954 in Berlin ) is a German designer and children's book author.

Monika Finsterbusch grew up in East Berlin. At the age of three she moved with her parents to West Berlin and later to the Rhineland. She studied fashion design in Bielefeld and Hamburg. After completing her studies, she worked in this profession for more than 20 years before switching to the toy industry as a designer, initially designing dolls for the Sigikid company. Since 2006 she has devoted herself to the conception and illustration of children's books at Coppenrath Verlag . She is the author and illustrator for Princess Lillifee . She has lived in Switzerland since 2002. In 2017 she was awarded the environmental prize for children's and young people's literature in the “Picture Book” category for her book “Pipa Lupina - Where to go with the odds and ends?”.
