Monika Müller-Leibl

Monika Müller-Leibl (born September 21, 1943 in Darmstadt ) is a German painter and graphic artist.

life and work

After studying painting with Friedrich Vordemberge at the Cologne Werkschulen, she moved to Munich in 1971, where she studied graphics (etching) with Mac Zimmermann at the Academy of Fine Arts . Monika Müller-Leibl has been working as a freelance artist in Munich and Cologne since 1977. "In her unadorned and deliberately coarse painting style, Monika Müller-Leibl is close to ... in Art brut" (Birgit Löffler, art historian). On large-format canvas pictures, drawings and etchings, figurative and landscape elements are created. Since 2007 she has expanded her repertoire to include art film and photography.
