Monique Pariat

Monique Pariat is a French EU civil servant and has headed the Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (DG ECHO) as Director General since 2015 .

Life

Monique Pariat studied political science from 1976 at the University of Strasbourg with a diploma in 1979 and then completed postgraduate studies at the College of Europe in Bruges .

From 1981 to 1985 she worked at the umbrella organization of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES) as assistant to the Secretary General, then until 1987 at the EU representation of the Italian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

She then joined the European Commission, where she spent a career in various Directorates General. From April 2014 to August 2015 she was Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) with responsibility a. a. for international relations. She has headed DG ECHO since September 2015.
