Drumming Monkey Records is a German music label based in Düsseldorf that focuses on different varieties of rock music .

history

The record company was founded in 2007 by Stephen George Ritchie, who is best known under his stage name Vom Ritchie as the drummer of the band Die Toten Hosen . In addition to Ritchie as managing partner, his wife Mary and Roman Thiel are involved. In an interview with the Rheinische Post two years after it was founded, Ritchie described the label as his “greatest hobby”. In the first eleven years, including singles and compilations , 26 productions were released.

The first album was Perfect Crime by Wet Dog in 2007 , one of the numerous bands in which Ritchie himself is a musician. Further publications include, among others, records from musician friends such as Cryssis , TV Smith , the Düsseldorf-based indie rock band The Buggs , Pascal Briggs , the duo Meg'n Jez , to which his son Jez Ritchie belongs, and the band B Bang Cider starring Mary Ritchie.
