The Monlési Ice Cave ( French : Glacière de Monlési ) is a cave in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel in the municipality of Val-de-Travers . The bottom of the cave is covered with a meter-thick layer of ice, and the cave contains almost 10,000 m³ of ice. The ice cave is a nature reserve. In the 1950s the ice was mined industrially and sold in the surrounding area.
