Monopis obviella is a butterfly from the family of real moths (Tineidae).
features
Monopis obviella is a very small butterfly, it only reaches a wingspan of eight to 13 millimeters. There is a yellow, curved, sharply demarcated welt on the rear edge of the forewings.

Way of life
The caterpillars live in bird nests, for example from jackdaws and blackbirds , in dovecotes and in the arches of owls. They are scavengers and feed on animal and vegetable remains. Often they can also be found on wool .
Flight and caterpillar times
Monopis obviella forms two generations a year that fly from May to October. The moths swarm in the evening on hedges and bushes and are occasionally found in the light.
