The Montafon stone sheep is an Austrian domestic sheep breed of stone sheep .

ancestry

The mixed-puffed aseasonal stone sheep is an autochthonous breed from the Montafon with little Bergamasque crossbreeding . The breed is related to the Bündner Oberland sheep and, like this one, comes from the peat sheep .

description

Compared to other sheep, they are smaller and slimmer, frugal and extremely resistant. A good feed processor in high and steep areas. Black to brownish and white and black piebald fur colors occur more frequently in the fur; completely white sheep are rather rare. Both sexes can be horned or hornless.

Duration

The number of these breeding animals is increasing slightly, but still below 150.
