Monte (dessert)
Zott Monte is a milk cream dessert that combines milk, chocolate and hazelnuts.
Launch
The pudding-like milk dessert with hazelnut and chocolate flavor was launched on April 1, 1996. Monte is now sold in over 40 countries.
range
The simple variant is now running as the "Monte Original". Other products are also offered under the Monte umbrella brand . These include comparable desserts:
- Balance: With less fat, introduced in 2015
- Two-compartment: With an additional ingredient such as biscuits, cherry sauce, etc. in a separate compartment; introduced in 2013, expanded by a few variants in 2015 (choco flakes, choco balls, cacao cookies and waffle sticks)
- White: A now no longer limited version of the classic dessert, made exclusively from the classic milk cream.
- Semolina: Monte in combination with light milk cream semolina, introduced in 2016
- Top Cup: Monte in combination with colorful chocolate buttons, introduced in 2017
- - 30% sugar: reduced sugar, introduced in 2019
In addition, Zott offers two distinctly different products under the Monte brand:
- Monte Snack: A slice of baked lids and a cream filling, similar to the milk slice , but with a second filling component with a chocolate flavor, introduced in 2014
- Monte Drink: liquid, in bottles of 200 ml

- Mega Monte: Standard Monte in a 400g single cup; March 2018
- Monte Black and White: Monte milk cream combined with dark dark cream; March 2018
- Monte Vanille: Monte milk cream combined with vanilla cream; March 2018
Is no longer offered:
- Plus: with an additional sauce (caramel, chocolate, vanilla, cappuccino) in the same mug, introduced in 2014
Awards
In 2015, the food newspaper named Monte one of several “top brands” in the delicatessen product group. The award is based on a positive development in market share in the respective market segment, determined by the market research institute GfK . In 2010, the consumer protection organization "foodwatch" awarded Zott the "golden cream puff" for the Monte Drink because of his application as a snack in spite of the high sugar content.
