Monuafe (also: Monuafai ) is a sunken small island in the north of Tongatapu in the Pacific . Politically, it belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga .

geography

The motu was on the north side of the Piha Passage (Astrolabe Channel) off the north coast of Tongatapu, across from Navutoka . It was near Onevao and ' Onevai .

From 2002 the island was increasingly eroded and disappeared until 2013. Today only a sandbank is left.
