ʻOnevai (also: Onevah ) is a small island in the north of Tongatapu in the Pacific . Politically, it belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga .
geography
The Motu is on the north side of the Piha Passage (Astrolabe Channel) off the north coast of Tongatapu, across from Navutoka . She is the bigger "sister" of Onevao (O). The closest islands are Monuafe (W) and Mokotau (N).
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands in the Tongatapu Group, ʻOnevai is occasionally hit by cyclones .
