Monumenta Paderbornensia

The Monumenta Paderbornensia is a Latin description of the history and geography of the Principality of Paderborn . The full title is Monumenta Paderbornensia ex historia romana, francica, saxonica eruta, novis inscriptionibus, figuris, tabulis geographicis ac notis posthumis Ferdinandi Principis, Episcopi Paderbornensis… illustrada accedunt Caroli M. Capitulatio de partibus Saxoniæ, ex antiquissimo MS. Palatino Bibliothecæ Vaticanæ, compendium vitæ celsissimi auctoris manes ferdinandæi, & panegyricus paderbornensis .

The Monumenta Paderbornensia was written by Bishop Ferdinand von Fürstenberg and first appeared in 1669. A German translation by Franz Joseph Micus (1801–1860) appeared in Paderborn in 1844 under the title Monuments of the Land of Paderborn. Johann Georg Rudolphi created the templates for numerous engravings for the illustrations .
