Murder Cross at Uhrsleben

The Uhrsleben murder stone is a sandstone slab near Uhrsleben in Saxony-Anhalt . The original appearance, time and circumstances of its creation are unclear. Various incisions can be seen on the front. It may be the remains of an atonement cross or a wayside shrine . This is indicated by the incised cross. However, atonement crosses in Saxony-Anhalt had a different shape and were smaller.

The stone was found in 1945 next to the Uhrsleben cemetery. Today it is located in the immediate vicinity of the site to the east of the village near the federal highway 245 in the direction of Bebertal .
