Reviews

The book Ruby Red Heart, Ice Blue Sea was praised as a kitsch-free portrait of an angry, often lonely girl:

“The author describes ... from the point of view of the growing Florine, defiant, sometimes self-righteous, then again relaxed, exuberant and funny. ... The mystery of Carlie's disappearance sets a dark tone, which gives this coming-of-age story depth and keeps the tension high. "
