Moriah Synagogue (Warsaw)

The Moriah Synagogue of Warsaw was the Zionist synagogue of the Warsaw Jews .

history

The Moriah Synagogue was located at 7 Dzielna Street in Warsaw. This building was erected in 1908 on behalf of the Jewish Zionist community Moriah . In 1939 the German occupiers demolished the synagogue. On May 20, 1941, the Nazi regime allowed the opening of three synagogues in the building of the former Moriah Synagogue. After three months of renovation, the synagogue was re-inaugurated on September 6, 1941. The inauguration ceremony took the Kantor Israel Mowsza Rudnicki, the choir under the leadership of Doctor Gutwerk, the rabbi Goldsztejn and Izaak Nisenbaum part. In September 1942, during the bombing of the Warsaw Ghetto even this sacred building destroyed.
