history

History of the two places

Ramlingen has about 550 inhabitants. Ramlingen and the larger neighboring town of Ehlershausen form the district of Ramlingen-Ehlershausen. Associations and organizations in Ramlingen are the volunteer fire brigade since 1893, the fire brigade music train since 1913, the mixed choir "Lyra" e. V. Ramlingen-Ehlershausen since 1921, the village community and the hunting community. The 300 year old chapel is a monument. The previous chapel, already mentioned in 1534, was destroyed in the Thirty Years War . Larger events are the harvest festival with large parades on Saturday and Sunday of the last weekend in September.

Ehlershausen is the largest town in Ramlingen-Ehlershausen in terms of area and population and has around 3200 inhabitants. It is located north of the B 3 in the middle of pine forests. It was only founded in 1816 by the roadside attendant Heinrich Friedrich Ehlers. Ehlers, who came from Schillerslage , built a stagecoach station on the Chaussee between Hanover and Celle, today's B 3. His son Carl Ehlers expanded the station into a pub in 1830. From 1827 further settlers settled at the station and on July 29, 1831 the Royal Landdrostei Lüneburg announced its decision to "add the name 'Ehlershausen' to the cultivation sites near Ramlingen, on the Chaussee from Schillerslage to Hanover". The place was named after the founder of the place. Ehlershausen developed into a village. At the census of June 30, 1836, there were already 26 inhabitants. The steeple of the modern Protestant "Martin Luther Church" is 50 m high and visible from afar.

Ramlingen-Ehlershausen currently still has a traditional forest pool from 1939 on Kreisstrasse 117 (Green Allee) between Ramlingen and the Burgwedeler village of Engensen . The bath has been operated with biological water treatment since 2014.

Information from the school chronicle of Ramlingen

The 184-page school chronicle for Ramlingen was started in 1892 by school teacher Adolf Dreyer. The last entry dates from July 31, 1968. Dreyer dealt with the beginnings of the place:

“The origin of the place Ramlingen cannot be determined with certainty. Apparently the foundation falls before the 15th century. Because in the chapel behind the altar there are outdated wooden figures that point to the Catholicism of our ancestors, such as the figure of a bishop, the mother Mary with the baby Jesus, etc. a. since it is a historical fact that the citizens of Celle et al. Burgdorf as early as 1524 under the warm admirer and friend of Luther , Duke Ernst the Elder. Confessors who converted to Protestantism and the residents of the area soon followed suit, it can be said that the building of the chapel and the founding of this place fell before the 15th century, during the Catholic period. "

Blazon : " Divided by green and silver , above a growing , golden lion , below between two green sea leaves an erect, blue wall anchor ."
Justification of the coat of arms: The lion symbolizes the former jurisdiction of the free, on an equal footing with the communities of Otze , Wettmar and Thönse , which already have coats of arms . The wall anchor is a sign of solidarity for the two districts of Ramlingen and Ehlershausen. The two sheets of the lake can be traced back to a deed of donation from Duke Ernst the Confessor , which is owned by the municipality of Ramlingen, in which the ponds near Ramlingen were prescribed to the municipality in recognition of good service.
